Here are my two biggies:

1. Libs of Tik Tok
Libs of Tik Tok is run by Chaya Raichik and controlled/funded by lifetime old-school Republican lawyer/fixer Grant Lally, among others. Raichik seems to be the figurehead; she's the one who gets Concerned lib reporters at her door, shows up on Tucker, actually knows how to browse the internet, etc. She seems disposable but she's got a sweet gig, honestly - get paid to post all day. Anyway, Lally is one of those old-school necocons who started as a cold warrior with a laundry list of intelligence operations under his belt. Cuban dissident stuff, some Bosnian stuff, maybe some iran-contra stuff, you get the picture. Most importantly he was part of the Brooks Bothers Riot back during the 2000 election, one of the boots on the ground who got Bush elected. This got his wife a cushy job in the Bush II administration as a reward.

An underrated irony here is that so much of our cultural hell can be traced back to Bush II and his War of Terror. The first real "cancellations" were of figures opposed to the 9/11 Wars; it was the time of "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists". Society has literally never recovered. The radlibs who terrorize the net today didn't get their postmodern tactics from French philosophers or ~liberal professors~ or ~radical college campuses~. They got them from the Bush Administration:

>'We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors...and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do'.
Anyway the second glowiest thing about Libs of Tik Tok is that it somehow has lasted something like 2 years on a Twitter that, at the time it blew up, was banning rightwing accounts all the time and yet for some reason leaving this one, which had an obvious team of people and whole-ass trademark registered (nobody does this for a fuckign social media account) completely alone. If any ordinary person were to make a similar account it would have a lifespan measured in milliseconds. This was BEFORE the Musk takeover.

In addition to it's loyal conservative fanbase, Libs of Tik Tok also supports a growing industry of liberal grifters, who hem and haw about how reposting stupid things people post on the only website worse than Twitter is a hate crime, playing up the danger of doing so for the usual culture war reasons. Few if any of these grifters mention the Bush connections all that often. It's all very boring and very stupid. Me? I blocked the fucking account and moved on with my life but it's still sad to see people treat it like something "organic".

2. Laurelai Bailey
Here's a case of "where to begin". There's too much data to go through but I'll try and summarize here. She started as an Anonymous and then Occupy member turned FBI snitch who was instrumental in getting Sabu busted back in the day. (https://www.wired.com/2011/06/lulzraid/amp) She's also got some kind of a history of sexual assault and abuse. A few years later she had a second life as a >reddit power mod who guided LGBT subreddits under her control in sus directions for years, then was run out of those a few years ago. Earlier this year she turned up again, assuming a new identity to take over the r/antiwork subreddit after it got featured on Fox News. Once she was found out there it was the final nail in the coffin for that subreddit.

Her latest incarnation, the one that recently was unmasked, was on Mastadon - she had created her own Mastadon instance and also had a small Twitter following under a new account. The gory details of this are on Github for whatever reason, so that's a good place to start.(https://gist.github.com/watchfulness/58359155ebf9aec0fa0d4855982dfce0)

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the intrusion of government weirdos online seems to be happening more rapidly than ever, and they don't seem to be discriminating too much when it comes to ideology. Making everyone and everything dysfunctional and pliant and at each other's throats seems to be the key.

I genuinely believe that social media is now solely used as a tool for crowd control, and mass manipulation. The evidence for such is overwhelming. The way which data can be manipulated and the perception of reality shifted. Even now, on this forum, i have no real way of knowing if any of you are real or not. I operate on the assumption that many of you are, whether or not you are feds, or some advertising intern trying to learn more about subcultures is another thing entirely.

Thats the real issue I see, that the surface level internet like social media, is consistently manipulated and fed ideas which are perpetuated by bots, troll farms, real people using fake accounts to spread misinfo or even just to shill their products. its not about right v left. that entire politicization of the internet is also intentional. memes that are created by mis-info agents to spread paranoia and distrust of anyone who doesn't agree with you wholeheartedly. it is pure insanity. I want to copy and paste this from wiki talking about the key ideas behind Baudrillard's simulacra and simulation. which i think echoes alot of the ideas people have about mistrusting social media, the internet and why the idea of "dead internet theory" seems very accurate. because simply put, it is simulated reality. there is plenty of evidence showing how much these companies put into generating fake content in order to make it seem like the internet is more full of life than it actually is.

——————————————————————–
Simulacra and Simulation delineates the sign-order into four stages:

1.The first stage is a faithful image/copy, where we believe, and it may even be correct, that a sign is a "reflection of a profound reality" (pg 6), this is a good appearance, in what Baudrillard called "the sacramental order".

2.The second stage is perversion of reality, this is where we come to believe the sign to be an unfaithful copy, which "masks and denatures" reality as an "evil appearance—it is of the order of maleficence". Here, signs and images do not faithfully reveal reality to us, but can hint at the existence of an obscure reality which the sign itself is incapable of encapsulating.

3.The third stage masks the absence of a profound reality, where the sign pretends to be a faithful copy, but it is a copy with no original. Signs and images claim to represent something real, but no representation is taking place and arbitrary images are merely suggested as things which they have no relationship to. Baudrillard calls this the "order of sorcery", a regime of semantic algebra where all human meaning is conjured artificially to appear as a reference to the (increasingly) hermetic truth.

4.The fourth stage is pure simulacrum, in which the simulacrum has no relationship to any reality whatsoever. Here, signs merely reflect other signs and any claim to reality on the part of images or signs is only of the order of other such claims. This is a regime of total equivalency, where cultural products need no longer even pretend to be real in a naïve sense, because the experiences of consumers' lives are so predominantly artificial that even claims to reality are expected to be phrased in artificial, "hyperreal" terms. Any naïve pretension to reality as such is perceived as bereft of critical self-awareness, and thus as oversentimental.

Degrees:
Simulacra and Simulation identifies three types of simulacra and identifies each with a historical period:

-First order, associated with the premodern period, where representation is clearly an artificial placemarker for the real item. The uniqueness of objects and situations marks them as irreproducibly real and signification obviously gropes towards this reality.

-Second order, associated with the modernity of the Industrial Revolution, where distinctions between representation and reality break down due to the proliferation of mass-reproducible copies of items, turning them into commodities. The commodity's ability to imitate reality threatens to replace the authority of the original version, because the copy is just as "real" as its prototype.

-Third order, associated with the postmodernity of Late Capitalism, where the simulacrum precedes the original and the distinction between reality and representation vanishes. There is only the simulation, and originality becomes a totally meaningless concept.[9]

Phenomena:
Baudrillard theorizes that the lack of distinctions between reality and simulacra originates in several phenomena:

-Contemporary media including television, film, print, and the Internet, which are responsible for blurring the line between products that are needed (in order to live a life) and products for which a need is created by commercial images.

-Exchange value, in which the value of goods is based on money (literally denominated fiat currency) rather than usefulness, and moreover usefulness comes to be quantified and defined in monetary terms in order to assist exchange.

-Multinational capitalism, which separates produced goods from the plants, minerals and other original materials and the processes (including the people and their cultural context) used to create them.

-Urbanization, which separates humans from the nonhuman world, and re-centres culture around productive throughput systems so large they cause alienation.

Language and ideology, in which language increasingly becomes caught up in the production of power relations between social groups, especially when powerful groups institute themselves at least partly in monetary terms.
—————————————————————–

I think that this general idea makes alot of sense when applied to internet especially. it is clear to us how there is an old internet, and a current internet. They are very different things.

one thing i had about social media is it's just a non-stop gay/trans worship zone. being gay and trans has become a literal religion to these people and they wont stop talking about it. Moldbug was right when he said the left was creating a new religion, well actually it's an old religion, puritanism, it was a religion to itself that literally forked off from the catholic church when Martin Luther created it.

But anyway, yea, it's annoying, you have to constantly sift through a sea of trans and gay shit to find people talking about normal stuff. It's like they still believe they are some oppressed minority, it's been socially acceptable to be gay in most countries since the 1980s, it's been socially acceptable to be trans since at least the past 10 years, they have all the mega corps catering to their every whim and supporting and backing them at every juncture but yet they still think they are the ressistence, lol. no. they are the empire now and non gay non trans people are the new jedi.

I was reading this comic called 'Elan School', which is the true story of a guy who got involved in a corrupt, culty reform school.

He describes all the research he did after getting out, even finding online forums where people talked about their experiences at that place. He says that even years ago, in the earlier days of the internet there were disinfo-bots and shills trying to poison the well:

What a bullshit statement.

I don't know about Murican nigger ghettos, but in Russia you can be realistically beaten to death, if you dress like a "transvestite" in public.

If you go by entertainment they definitely started going easier on fags in the 1980s. But Hollywood is always screechingly liberal compared to the rest of America, where they probably got their asses beat.

It's true. On other hand, seeing all those SJWs whining about discrimination of minorities on the West... Unbelievably pathetic morons.
